Abstracts
“I approach abstracts with a wide (mental) brush. Sometimes it’s purely about what moves me in expressive color at the moment. Often it’s a time of experimentation with form, composition, and texture. It comes down to fun. There are times when I am transported to almost a trance state when I paint an abstract work. It can have representational elements or it may have only shapes and color to form an impression. As long as it communicates interest to the viewer, I have said something positive to the world and I’m satisfied.”
