My inspiration: Walking on a pathway along the Pacific at Shelter Island, San Diego, I spotted a very old and craggy rowboat. Imagining the colorful life and stories tied to this dingy, I set out to treat every chipped piece of paint, old frayed rope, and missing pieces of wood with reverence for the colorful even vibrant life it must have lived.
